Opening Ceremony of the Jubilee 800 in Hong Kong
The ceremony started with the singing of the antiphon Gaudete Mater Ecclesia and the reading of the Letter of the Master of the Order, Fr. Bruno Cadoré. Then the friars entered the chapel singing the Hymn for the Jubilee “Laudare, Benedicere, Predicare”. Thirty members, comprising priests, student brothers, novices and postulants, attended the ceremony.
The prior of St. Albert, Fr. Secundino Vicente, invited us, in his homily, to celebrate with joy the period of grace that the Jubilee offers us; he reminded us that the following of Jesus brings many sacrifices to us but at the same time we will receive gracefully many rewards and recompenses from God.
At the end of the mass, two brothers representing the communities of St. Albert and St. Joseph received a lighted candle that will preside the chapel of their respective communities during the period of the Jubilee 800. The ceremony ended giving thanks to God with the singing the Te Deum.
